Hello Halloween lovers,

I'm Shannon. I create Trip to Heaven lavender and chamomile meltaways, candles, and teas in The Witch's Tavern, and take your lunch order. I have to share a party my girlfriend Monique and I discovered. It's called The Shining Ball and it takes place every October at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. What makes that hotel so special, you may ask? Well, it's the location that inspired Stephen King to write his best-selling book The Shining.

At this eerie event, they hold a Best Overall Stephen King Inspired Costume contest, as well as Best Shining Costume, and new this Year—Best Jack Torrance Costume. Specialty cocktails entice all who attend, including the infamous "Redrum." DJ Rockstar Aaron will keep you moving to escape Jack's axe, and to stimulate your insight— you can have a tarot reading by Hannibal!

The tickets sell out as early as August, so whenever you decide to fly out to the Colorado Rockies for some thrilling, scary fun—plan ahead. And remember: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So don't be dull and go to the party!
