This 1980's Ghost Movie in our series is my favorite: Poltergeist. It came out in 1982 and I saw it on cable TV years later. In a nutshell, a typical tract home in a Southern California housing community is besieged by malevolent powers and ghosts when a portal is created through the television.

There's comedy, our attraction and comfortable feeling with a happy family, and when you least expect it, horror! It hooks you and doesn't let you go until the credits roll.

Here are moments of Poltergeist:
