Mrs. Robinson came out donned in a blue terrycloth bathrobe with old-fashioned foam curlers in her hair. “What’s going on?” The older woman asked.

Merlin raised his hand. “Good evening, Mrs. Robinson.”

She nodded and tried to smile, but her eyes held worry.

“It’s all right. Everything is okay!” said Carolyn. “I just banished a goblin from your garden.”

After a few seconds looking over Carolyn with squinted eyes, Mrs. Robinson broke out in guffaws. “Of course you did! That’s why you’re a Hudson Valley witch!”
