Day 13
1980's Ghost Movies
Welcome Horror Fans!
I'm John and I'm your host today. I run equipment for all The Kelly Society paranormal cleansing cases. So, naturally I'm interested in supernatural movies, in other words, horror! Now, my tastes do have guardrails, but I do love the classics like The Shining.
This addition to our 1980's Ghost Movies category just makes it, as it came out in May of 1980. Where do I begin? Adapted from a Stephen King novel and directed by Stanley Kubrick, The Shining takes us to a hotel in the Colorado mountains locked down for the winter. Unfortunately, the resort is also infested with evil and tragic ghosts.
Jack Torrance and family take on the job of caretakers through the winter. But Jack succumbs to the darkness of the Overlook Hotel and looses his mind. It doesn't help that he is an angry alcoholic about to write the next great novel, but only fills pages with repetitive gibberish. For those who have never seen this movie (and I know there are some out there), I don't want to spoil the surprise of what the "Gibberish" on Jack's white pages consists of.
Here are some moments from The Shining:
