I Married a Witch! 31 Days of Halloween with The Kelly Society Day 1

31 Days of Halloween with

The Kelly Society

Day 1

Greetings Halloween fans to our celebrated October Spooky Season!

The Kelly Society is back again to whisk you through 31 magical days to celebrate the spooky season ending with All Hallows Eve! The Kelly Society is a paranormal investigation team led by me, Vivien Kelly, but I couldn't do it without my team. You'll meet each one of them on this blog as we go through our Halloween posts Days 1-31.

I Married a Witch! This movie came out October 30, 1942 and ranks 95% with Rotten Tomatoes. It's understandable when you watch the movie in black and white, I might add. My husband Neal and I just watched the film again and as always, it had us laughing with spooky delight.

Here is the plot:

Just as she is about to be burned at the stake for witchcraft, 17th century witch Jennifer (Veronica Lake) casts a curse on the family of her accuser, dooming all the men of future generations to marry the wrong women. Freed from her ethereal prison some 250 years later, Jennifer decides to make the most recent descendant of her accuser (Fredric March) even more miserable by using a love potion on him that makes him fall in love with her, a plan that has unexpected results.

This movie must have been a nice respite from World War Il, which was in progress when it came out and would not end for almost three more years.

A Vanity Fair review back in October of 2017 proclaimed:

"I Married a Witch Is an Underrated Halloween Gem."

We can't recommend this movie enough! Be sure to invite your friends over to watch and have popcorn, candy, Vampire wine, or whatever you choose for a fun Halloween treat!

Poor Estelle! :)

Happy Halloween!
