Hello Paranormal Fans and welcome to Freaky Fridays with me, S.K. Andrews.!
This is my first posting and during October and December I blog as characters from my book series The Kelly Society for 31 Days of Halloween and 25 Days of Christmas. But, I want to continue a fun paranormal blog campaign throughout the rest of the year and BAM! I got this idea this morning.
Each Friday I shall focus on an aspect or enigma from the supernatural realm and throw it out for discussion. Sometimes these subjects will be executed in my books and I'll tie that into the post, but other times we shall simply muse, wonder, and maybe even delight in these amazing anamolies!
Astral Projection Defined:
Astral projection (also known as astral travel) is a term used in esotericism to describe an intentional out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of a subtle body called an "astral body" through which consciousness can function separately from the physical body and travel throughout the astral plane.
I had an experience with astral projection (or) out of body travel whenever I stayed at my grandparent's home in the late 1960's. I was about eight years old and my grandparents had a gorgeous custom built two story home in San Marino, CA constructed in the 1940's, complete with a rose garden and badminton court in the backyard. I always slept in the upstairs guest room, which has slanted walls on one side. The photo provided is not the actual room, but the wall shape is the same. So, every morning just as the sun rose, I would open my eyes and find myself tucked up in the corner of the bedroom against the slanted wall space. I never saw my own body sleeping in the bed below me, but I knew for sure I wasn't suppose to be floating on the ceiling! As soon as I realized what was happening my body would fly down with a big Whoosh, and next thing I knew I was in the bed looking up at the ceiling in a shadowed bedroom watching early morning rays of sunshine flow through the curtains. I was never scared until I found myself high above the bed. I never told anyone about it, but I'm glad to share it now. I truly don't believe it was a dream, because it happened many times. I think my spirit just traveled at night and for some reason, this room encouraged those trips!
Astral Projection in Sekhmet the Wicked
In book 3 of The Kelly Society, which is my current work in progress astral projection will be part of a crucial scene for my main character paranormal cleanser, Vivien Kelly. She must contact a famous Egyptologist for help and cannot find him. So, what can she do? Well, when you are Vivien Kelly with intense psychic and telekinetic powers - you astral project!
Have any of you experienced an out of body experience? If so, please share!
Stay well and may your paranormal experiences be magical!
