31 Days of Halloween with
The Kelly Society
Day 9
Hi, I'm John and I'm your post host today. I went to Anoka, MN last year to check out the happenings as the Halloween Capital of the World. By the way, I'm the one who keeps all those ghostbusting machines running for The Kelly Society paranormal team in Half Moon Bay, CA.
Anyway, I had a ball in Anoka. My buddy and I participated in a Halloween Scavenger Hunt with hidden Halloween symbols for us to find in downtown Anoka stores, delighted in results of a children's Pumpkin Carving Contest, and took in a wonderful Light Up the Night Parade. But my favorite part was the Ghosts of Anoka Walking Tour. I loved the history and the chills.
Here is why Anoka, MN truly is the Halloween Capital of the World:
In 1937, 12-year-old, Harold Blair, donning a sweater embellished with a Halloween Capital insignia, carried with him to Washington, D.C. a proclamation naming Anoka Halloween Capital of the World®.

If you love Halloween and even if you don't, go to Anoka, MN and check it out. The joy and shivers will make you feel the true magic of Halloween!
