Day 9

Hello, my name is Katherine O’Hara. I am Vivien’s friend and mentor. She has evolved to such a point now, that Vivien really doesn’t need me to guide her, but she will tell you differently. Vivien calls me her touchstone, which warms my heart.

Vivien stayed with me in Kate’s Cottage (the nickname for my home) for a year while she honed her psychic and Celtic combat skills here in Clonakilty, Ireland. It only took a day to forgive me for not telling her about McGregor’s Celtic combat training. When I caught up with her in upstate New York, I didn’t want to scare her off. Luckily, she took me up on my offer to come to Ireland!

On to Samhain (Halloween). Sure’n it’s my holiday! In Clon there are such enjoyable events, I almost can’t keep up. Every year I build an altar in my garden to honor my relatives in the spirit world. I bake special Samhain bread (my renowned Irish soda bread) to place upon the altar. It’s a tradition I’m after keeping up each and every October 31st.

My friend Rose and I walked about town with the rest of the Clonakilty Quilting Club, and I snapped a few shots from last year.
