31 Days of Halloween with The Kelly Society Day 22 - Paranormal Author Tena Stetler

Day 22

About Tena Stetler:

Tena Stetler is a best-selling author of award winning paranormal romance with an over-active imagination. She wrote her first vampire romance as a tween, to the chagrin of her mother and the delight of her friends. Colorado is home; shared with her husband, a brilliant Chow Chow, a spoiled parrot and a forty-five-year-old box turtle. When not writing, she spends her time kayaking, camping (where she may hunt down the next ghost, witch, gryphon, & vampire to use in her next book), also hiking, biking, or just relaxing in the great Colorado outdoors.

Her books tell tales of magical kick-ass women and mystical alpha males that dare to love them. Travel, adventure, and a bit of mystery flourish in her books along with a few companion animals to round out the tales.

Hello There! It's Donna, owner of Luna Books and I'm back. I asked my friend Vivien Kelly (founder of The Kelly Society paranormal cleansing team) if I could post again. I have another favorite paranormal author, and that is -Tena Stetler. She has quite a collection of published books and I get swept up by all of them. I asked her a few questions, and here are her answers:

Each day when you get up in the morning, what is it about the mystical, ghostly, and unexplained realm that keeps you riveted to write about it?

I love creeping into my writing cave and shutting the door effectively closing out the world to enter the fantasy world I created and write about. New and exciting things and characters are always a foot in my writing cave.

I’m a panster so anything can and does happen. More often than not my characters, new and old take the reins of my stories and take off dragging me into a new adventure each day.

Did I mention reality is over rated? Bwwwwhaaaaa!

What was your best Halloween ever?

Years ago, my best friend, Lisa, and her kids would join us for Halloween every year (they’ve all since moved away now) <sigh>. We’d watch Halloween movies and wait for the kids to come back. They were older kids. Anyway, this one Halloween the weather was unseasonably warm. Usually we get the first snow storm of the season on Halloween. Anyway, the girls and their friends were all dressed up and wanted to go trick or treating in my safe neighborhood (this would be their last trick or treating as they were getting too old). I left the candy duties to hubby. Couldn’t find my shoes, so went barefoot, grabbed my wizard’s hat and flew out the door. Yes, it was that warm. Their mother (my best friend) and I joined their little entourage. It was like we were kids again, running from house to house, squealing, giggling and snacking on candy. Yep, some of the parents gave us candy too. Yes indeed, we were the talk of the neighborhood that year, but in a fun way.

Since then, I’ve been to Halloween parties and hosted murder Halloween parties but none compare to the simple impromptu fun of that night. Adulting is over rated.

Happy Halloween!
